ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION – SUNDAY 3rd MAY 2026
Dear Worthing Community,
We are writing to let you know that the Worthing RUN-FEST Half Marathon is returning this year on 3rd May 2026. The much-loved race is once again going to bring the community together to celebrate the great town of Worthing. Using the roads of Worthing for the race will cause some changes to the usual traffic routes for a limited time period on Sunday 3 May. In planning this event, every effort is made to minimise the disruption caused due to road closures.
A list of all roads affected is included below for your reference. We are working closely with Worthing Council as well as all emergency services and transport links to minimise disruptions.

Marine Parade (p) (Warwick Road to Steyne Gardens)
SUNDAY 3RD MAY
05:00 – 14:00 A259 Brighton Road, The Steyne, Steyne Gardens, Marine Parade (Steyne Gardens to South Street)
08:00 – 13:30 Marine Parade (full length), Heene Road, Grand Avenue, West Parade, George V Avenue, Eriene Road, Marine
Crescent, Marine Drive & Amberley Drive
08:00– 12:30 Sea Lane
Roads will begin to close at 05:00 to allow the set-up for Worthing RUN-FEST to start safely. From 08:00 a wide range of roads will close ahead of the Worthing RUN-FEST Half Marathon starting at 09:30. Roads will begin to re-open from 12:30, once all runners have passed by and when it is safe and feasible to do so. Most roads will have re-opened by 13:30 and all roads will have re-opened by 15:00. Advanced warning signs will also be installed around the race route two weeks prior to the event date, indicating when the roads will be closed.
A small section of Marine Parade will be closed on Saturday at 12:00 noon. This is to allow our team to work during the day and reduce the amount of work being done in the early hours of the morning, making this work both safer and more considerate to the residents living near the finish line on Marine Parade.
Parking suspensions will be in place on Marine Parade, these are just within the area being closed from Saturday 2nd May. This is to allow us enough room to build the finish line and medical provisions. These will be in place from 12:00 on Saturday 2nd May until 15:00 on Sunday 3rd May. Advanced notice of parking restrictions will be installed prior to the event date, indicating where parking suspensions will be in place. Please note any vehicles parked in contravention of any parking restrictions may be removed.
Please do allow extra time for your journey and, where possible, avoid driving in the area during the closure period. If you do need to drive on Sunday 3 May, please consider parking on an alternative street on the evening of the Saturday 2 May to enable you to carry out your journey.
