Arriving before 10am? Head to Embankment station and we will help you get across barriers.
Arriving after 10am by tube? Head to Temple Station and use the crossing point at Somerset House. Then 4 minute Walk (1/2 mile) to Embankment Pier.
Arriving from South of the River/ Waterloo? We advise you cross the Thames at Westminster Bridge and walk 0.5 miles. Other bridges around Waterloo will drop you off on the wrong side of the marathon course so please use Westminster Bridge.
Arriving by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers? Get a boat to Embankment Pier (for a free £20 ticket see instructions at the bottom of the page)
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
We understand there are two types of party goers so we have a couple of different things happening throughout the day.
ELITE LOVERS: Join David Bedford and special guests for anecdotes of the elite races. This will start from 9.15am and finish around noon.
CHEER CREW: We understand that many of our guests have an important job of supporting the real stars of the event. We understand that you will not know your arrival time until the day. Do not worry, we look forward to welcoming you until 2pm. From 12ish we have some live music.
We will be providing some drink tokens for our guests but not food. The bar will be providing some food but it will not be hot (think croissants). Our advice would be to have a healthy big breakfast and feel free to bring any sandwiches as we cannot guarantee what food is available.
Elite Key Timings:
Wheelchairs start at 08.50 and get to Embankment Station at circa 10.15
Women start at 9.05 and get to Embankment Station at circa 11.15
Men and masses start 9.35 and get to Embankment Station at circa 11.30
Walking instructions:
Please note if arriving from South of the River, we advise you cross the Thames at Westminster Bridge and walk 0.5 mile. Other bridges around Waterloo will drop you off on the wrong side of the marathon course so please use Westminster Bridge.
Embankment Station will have full barriers on both sides of the road. I think younger guests could climb over them before 10am. If they cant or don’t want to try then Temple Station.
Temple Station: Cross the marathon course at the crossing point at Somerset House. Then 4 minute Walk (1/2 mile) to Embankment Pier.
Arrive by boat?
Thanks to our amazing partners Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, we can offer our guests FREE hop on, hop off ticket (worth £25). This ticket will allow you to jump on any Uber Boat by Thames Clippers boat and arrive in style at Embankment Pier. This is perfect for anyone wanting to support runners around the course. I.e. Boats stop at several spectator-friendly piers between Woolwich (Royal Wharf) and Westminster including Canary Wharf, Tower and Embankment (our party venue).
