The Richmond Marathon starts within the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, running through Hampton Court Palace!

Tour the gardens before passing historical assets including Ham House, Richmond Green, Teddington Lock, Kingston Riverside and the meandering River Thames.

With three famous bridges, a Royal Palace and one famous river this race has been described as the “Worlds most scenic Marathon!” Check out all the amazing landmarks here.

This will be extra special this year as the music festival finish will be headlined by the ladies from BASEMENT JAXX!

This event has a Full Licence by Run Britain (Licence ID: 2024-47798) and is a London Marathon ‘Good for Age’ & Boston Marathon qualifier.

Spectator Admission

Supporters FREE entry into Kew Gardens  if they arrive before 9.15am. This includes 2 adults and 2 children plus runner (Normally £16 per adult).

The Marathon starts at 8am however marathon spectators can enter into Kew Gardens (via Elizabeth Gate, Kew Green) to watch them run inside Kew BEFORE 9:15am. There is NO ADMISSION into Kew Gardens after this time. Spectators do not have to be with their runner to gain access but must arrive on time and can only gain access Elizabeth Gate (postcode TW9 3AE).

Please note Dogs are NOT ALLOWED inside Kew Gardens but are welcome at the finish line in Old Deer Park.

After this time, we suggest spectators head to Old Deer Park (TW9 2SF) to welcome you through the finish-line. Dogs are welcome at the finish line.

RACE PACK COLLECTION:

Race Packs will be sent out in the post 1 week before the event. If you have not received it by the Thursday before the event, please contact us.

Terrain:

Multi-terrain: Flat and fast! All on road and path inside Kew Gardens before running along the Thames Towpath. Please expect to run on flat path, road, gravel and grass during the 26.2 miles. The course is flat as a pancake.
The Marathon has a cut off time of 06:30:00 hours

First Aid:
Full professional cover consisting of medics on bikes, ambulance vehicles (cars and ambulances) are in place throughout the course and on the finish line.
Marshals:
The entire course will be fully marshalled. Marshalls are volunteers so please say thanks to these amazing people!
Sweep Marshals:
A sweep Marshal will be present to assist athletes who do not complete the course and will be transported to the finish line.
Water Station Locations:
We have water stations at 4 miles (water), 8.6 miles (water & Maurten drink), 11.6 miles (water), 14.9 miles (Water & Maurten), 17.5 miles (water), 20.1 miles (water & Maurten), 21.7 miles (water), 24.6 miles (water).

Race entries are NOT TRANSFERABLE and NON-DEFERABLE. We do not permit a change of race number. A full refund will only be offered within 14 days of payment. After this there will be NO REFUNDS, DEFERRALS TO NEXT YEAR OR TRANSFERS TO ANOTHER RUNNER.
