How to get to the start of the Richmond Runfest

SUMMARY

The Richmond Marathon, Half and 10K events all start in Kew Gardens and finish in an all-day family festival 1 mile away in Old Deer Park.

The ONLY Kew Gardens entrance open is Elizabeth Gate, Kew Green use address: 55, Kew Green, Richmond TW9 3AA. Click here for google maps and for What3Words use: plants.acid.remit.

BY CAR

Official event parking has now sold out. Please see the website here for detailed information and recommended car parks. Please note: Kew Gardens visitor car park will not be available on race day.

BY FOOT

KEW BRIDGE STATION: is 0.6 miles from Elizabeth Gate. Walk over Kew Bridge, turn right onto Kew Green then straight ahead to the golden gates!

RICHMOND STATION: Walk north-east on Kew Rd/A307 towards Sun Alley.
Continue to follow Kew Rd for 1.6 miles. Turn left onto Kew Green and the entrance will be straight ahead.

BY BICYCLE

Why not cycle to Old Deer Park and then walk or take the 65 bus to Kew Green. It’s a perfect warm up for the legs! There are cycle bike racks outside Elizabeth Gate or chain your bike to a fence inside Old Deer Park or cycle parking at Pools in the Park.

BY TRAIN, LONDON UNDERGROUND & OVERGROUND

The closest train station to the start line is Kew Bridge followed by Richmond station. Sorry Marathon runners but the first train into Kew Bridge gets in at 8:16am from Waterloo, however the first train to Richmond gets in at 06:40. From there jump on the 65 bus from Richmond to Kew Green (or walk/jog). We recommend this for all Marathon runners and Waves 1 & 2 of the 10K and Half.

The closest tube is Kew Gardens, however TFL have part closures on the District and Piccadilly lines. District is closed between Earls Court and Ealing Broadway / Kensington Olympia / Richmond. The Piccadilly line is closed between: Kings Cross St Pancras and Northfields / Uxbridge. Click here for more closure information. For more information visit: https://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/ (TFL) or https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ (National Rail).

BY BUS

Routes 237, 65, 110 and 267 stop at Kew Bridge Station. Route 65 between Ealing Broadway and Kingston, via Richmond town centre, stops outside Kew Green.

The above is correct on 10th July 2025 but is subject to change so please check your arrangements before departing.
